Help healthy aging research

The Academic Centre for Healthy Ageing (ACHA) is a brand new research, education and training centre from Barts Health NHS Trust and Queen Mary University of London, funded by Barts Charity. ACHA works closely with local people and health and care staff in north-east London to improve care and support for people as they grow older.
ACHA

In preparation to begin work, ACHA is holding some workshops bringing together health and care professionals, academics, and people with lived experience, to help shape the research. These are known in the academic world as ‘research sandpits’.  There have one remaining, which you are invited to be part of:

  • How can ACHA support healthy lifestyles in north east London? Wednesday 2nd April, 2-4pm at Harmony Hall in Walthamstow.

By adding your voice, you will make sure that the views of older adults and caregivers in our community are heard. Please consider joining or sharing with others who might like to play a role in shaping the research that will drive change and improve people’s experiences of ageing, locally and further afield.

Structure: The sandpits will last 2 hours, with comfort breaks. The workshop will be a mixture of talks, activities and discussion in small groups.

Refreshments: Tea and cake will be provided.

Travel costs: If you need help with the cost of your travel, we can provide this, either by booking your tickets ourselves or paying you back.

Companion: If you need support to take part because English is not your first language, or if you need help from a personal assistant, then you are welcome to bring someone.

Signing up: To register your interest, please email at bartshealth.acha@nhs.net or call or text on 07821 667258.
